Botox Treatments

Botox treatments are medically proven to temporarily smooth lines and wrinkles. Experienced, qualified and knowledgeable injectors mean natural-looking results. Yes, Botox® means injections, but our techniques mean you hardly feel it.

Years of squinting, concentrating and frowning in the harsh New Zealand sun can leave wrinkles and lines at the corner of the eyes and the forehead. Frown lines can give an angry or a sad look.

Botox® relaxes the facial muscles that promote facial lines and is the world’s number one cosmetic medical procedure. A twenty-minute Botox treatment can soften frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet as well as give your face a fresher look.
If performed well it will have people telling you that “You look well” and not asking whether you have had work done.  At $17.50 a unit a typical frown line treatment will usually cost $350.*

Many facial wrinkles occur when we use our muscles to form facial expressions. When we are young our skin springs back to its initial position after facial expression. As we get older wrinkles develop with movement and eventually become permanent. Natural ageing, exposure to the harsh New Zealand sun, smoking and stress all contribute to the creation of wrinkles and folds. Botox treatments come here to the rescue.

Commonly asked Botox Questions

What does BOTOX® treatment involve?

BOTOX® treatment is an injection procedure. A small amount of BOTOX® is administered into selected facial muscles by a trained doctor or nurse using a very fine needle. Generally, BOTOX® treatment takes around 10 minutes.
Discomfort is usually minimal and brief, and no anesthetic is usually required. Normal activities can be resumed straight away.
After your first treatment, it takes 2-3 days for the BOTOX® treatment to begin taking effect and about 10-14 days to see the full effect. The recommended dose will vary depending on your Individual situation and the severity of your lines. Your doctor or nurse will know what the best dose is for you and which muscles to inject to give you the best results.

How long does BOTOX® treatments last?

The effect can last up to 3-4 months before the lines slowly begin to return. If you have repeat BOTOX® treatments, the effect tends to last longer.

How much does Botox cost?

Botox® is the world’s number one cosmetic medical procedure for good reason. Botox treatments start from $350. You can relax the muscles that form and maintain lines and wrinkles as well as give a fresh look. With good Botox® your friends will be able to say that you are looking great but won’t be able to guess why.

There are a few people offering Botox treatments these days. We have been providing Botox treatments since 2002 and have performed hundreds of treatments. In addition, Dr Paul Nola is a Fellow of the New Zealand College of Appearance Medicine. Call for a free consultation to see what we can offer you.

The most common area treated is the frown area (the glabella). As well as stopping people asking you why you are angry treating this area with Botox® freshens the face and lifts the eyebrows by a millimeter or two. The second most common area we treat during Botox treatments is the crow’s feet lines around the eyes. Both the glabella and the crow’s feet usually respond to 20 units of Botox® each. At $17.50 a unit the cost for these areas is usually $350 each.

Botox® is, on balance, probably the best treatment for underarm sweating and can also be used to treat “smoker’s lines, “bunny lines” on the side of the nose and a downturned mouth.

Botox® is a medical treatment using an injected toxin with risks and benefits. To discuss whether it is right for you and what the risks and benefits are please make an appointment for a consultation with one of our experienced Registered Nurses. Call 09 360 4078 or email reception@pcmc.co.nz
